Waiting For Gatsby

The Great Gatsby got me thinking last night. And the soundtrack--specifically Lana Del Rey's, "Young and Beautiful"--has been haunting me.

Love should be epic. I don't want it to be move in ready—I want a saga, an unprecedented tale. I want passion to swoop me up and not be content with scheduling and going days without seeing that person. In every embrace, I want to know the steps and days and years that took to get those kisses and what is behind each one.

To be with the guy who throws parties, hoping I'll wander in one night. To be the undeniable love of someone's life; that if your paths should diverge, you'll run into them one day at the store with your husband and kids and they don't realize it, but right before that scene of the now-you, they'll have taken their last breath for the moment; to be choked up with still living love for you. The person whom if your paths should mix and become one, you can always count on to love you forever. No rivals, but the number one priority and game-changer.

But to Gatsby, Daisy will be beautiful forever. And that's the type of love I want, will wait for and choose.
